GP Mental Health Treatment Plans

Rebates from Medicare are available for up to ten sessions per calendar year, provided that your GP has completed a GP Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP), under the Medicare Better Access to Mental Health Care Initiative. You can discuss with your GP whether a MHTP would be appropriate for you. To claim Medicare rebates on your MHTP, we require a valid referral letter from your GP.

 Private Health Insurance 

You may also be eligible to claim through your private health fund depending on your level of cover, so please speak with your health insurer to find out more.

Fees

Corner Psychology is not a Bulk Billing practice, however we endeavour to make psychological services accessible and affordable to the community. Payment for sessions are required at the conclusion of your scheduled appointment.

Sessions 

Each session runs for approximately 50 minutes. To obtain maximum benefit from your sessions, we request that parents do not bring children to appointments.

Telehealth
Telehealth session are available, we advise that you ensure you have a private, quiet and comfortable space to have your Telehealth session, with a strong internet connection. We also encourage you to limit all distractions in your physical environment.

Cancellations

If you are unable to attend a session, we ask that you give at least 24 hours notice to allow other clients to access the appointment time. A cancellation fee of $90 will be charged if less than 24 hours notice is given, in accordance with our cancellation policy.

After Hours Appointments

After hours appointments are available at an increased fee, please enquire with the reception staff.

Location and Parking

We are located at 126 Gheringhap Street, Geelong, on the corner of McKillop Street. The practice is co-located with Geelong Ophthalmology and is clearly signed from the street. Ample parking is available on the street and the building is wheelchair accessible.
